2025: The Year of Incredible Cleats
Every year soccer cleats continue to get bolder, faster, stronger, and more incredible. However, 2025 has brought us some of the most exciting and dominant cleats the game has ever seen. Mixing powerful technology with nostalgic style has been at the forefront of cleat design this year. Player editions boots continue to be more and more iconic with styles that truly bring player stories to life on the field. Check out some of our top picks from 2025 so far!
Nike Hypervenom Hydra

After over a decades long hiatus, Nike brought back the infamous Hypervenom in May. The brand didn’t just stop at the OG Hypervenom with the relaunch, but also brought us a shoe that we had never seen before. The Hypervenom Hydra is a play off the 2015 heatshift Hypervenom that took the game by storm, but this time dipped in water the boots would reveal snake skin inspired graphic. The classic Hypervenom I upper paired with a more modern sole plate so you got an iconic pair of cleats that are more modern and ready for action than the classic cleats that took the game to new heights in the 2010s.
PUMA x KidSuper

The Club World Cup brought PUMA and KidSuper together for the kit designs that PUMA clubs wore on the pitch, but they also came together to design the special edition cleats that would hit the pitch for the tournament. Each silo had their own bold and unique story that was arguably some of the most exciting PUMA Cleats to hit the field this year. Each silo told its own story, starting with the future that used vision as the heart of the design. A striking blue colorway with an eye graphic worked to bring us the Future that redefined design. The speedy Ultra continued to embody the speed mantra with a pink upper, laces, and sole plate and reimagined Kid Super branding for a pair of cleats that is as speed as they are iconic. Last but certainly not least, the King took a step away from tradition with a black base and bold pops of pink and yellow accents throughout the cleats.
adidas Trinity Rodman Sparkfusion F50

Speed has been at the forefront of design in the last decade when it comes to soccer cleats, but brands are putting a whole hearted approach into designing cleats specifically for women. While we saw the Women’s F50 in 2024, the Sparkfusion F50 is at the forefront of women’s boot design. Using a female-focused sole plate and toe box, the Sparkfusion F50 redefines speed and control for the women’s game. The Trinity Rodman player edition is the first of its kind and brings Rodman’s bold and iconic style to a pair of cleats that are definitely all hers.
Mizuno Shadow Gem Pack

Regal style meets stealthy dominance in the Mizuno Shadow Gem Pack. While they don’t always get the love they deserve, Mizuno continues to impress the soccer world with their designs steeped in heritage and classic leather style. The Shadow Gem Pack brings a classic stealthy black style that is ready for the players who want a pair of boots that means business with no frills. Red chromed out details subtly work their way through the cleats for a dominant yet refined pair of cleats.
Nike Chromatic Pack

Never failing to disappoint, Nike brought us the Chromatic Pack in early March. Built with bold colors and a style that oozes class, the Chromatic Pack is one of the most exciting full pack drops we’ve seen from the brand. Each boot came in a white/multicolor colorway but held their own identity on the field. The Mercurial brought us a white and chromed out purple colorway that was fast and more dominant than ever before. While the Mercurial was bold, the Phantom used subtle style to own its identity on the field. A completely white base was complimented with Emerald finishings on the upper and sole plate that was a total touch of class. The Tiempo brought a classy and reimagined style to the silo that has needed the most love and attention. Another white base is complimented with Red Chrome finishings throughout the shoe for one of the best Tiempo’s we’ve seen in quite some time.
adidas x David Beckham Predator

If there is one thing adidas knows how to do it’s invoke the memories of some of our favorite icons and moments into a single pair of cleats. The David Beckham Predator combines the heart and soul of one of soccer’s most notorious icons with his passion and love for his club Inter Miami. While the cleats are not inherently nostalgic, they remind us who dominated the game and made the Predator the icon that we know and love today. The Beam Pink/Core Black/Ftwr White color way is a love letter from Beckham to his new found home and club that has reignited his love for the beautiful game.
Nike Phantom 6

The future of the game paired with the demands of the modern athlete in the upgraded Nike Phantom 6. We saw the GX and Luna iterations of the Phantom disappear and a return to a classic Phantom style. Players get an updated ultra grippy upper material and an updated iteration on the Cyclone 360 sole plate for more control, precision, and power from the Phantom silo than players thought possible. Players that love high-cut boots are not going to be without them, even with the elimination of the Luna. The Dynamic Fit Phantom makes its triumphant return with a modern lace covering to give players a wider and extended strike zone.
